<p class="Paragraph">Any <help:productname xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">%PRODUCTNAME</help:productname> document can be expanded into a form. Simply add one or more form functions.</p>
<p class="Paragraph">The <span class="T1">Form</span> icon of the main toolbar opens a floating toolbar by long clicking the icon. This floating toolbar contains the basic <help:link Id="66036" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">functions</help:link> to edit a form. You will find again many of these functions in the object bar if you select a form element in the document.</p>
<p class="Paragraph">If you click a form element in the editing mode, <help:link Id="65539" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Object bar</help:link>, <span class="T1">Format</span> menu commands and context menus offer context-sensitive editing functions.</p>
<p class="Paragraph">In the form design you can <help:link Id="66036" Eid="kontrollfelder" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Include controls</help:link>, <help:link Id="65962" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Apply properties</help:link> to them, define <help:link Id="65960" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Form properties</help:link> and <help:link Id="65955" Eid="unterformular" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Define subforms</help:link>.</p>
<p class="Paragraph">Here the <help:link Id="65950" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"><span class="T1">Form Navigator</span></help:link> that you open on the object bar or the floating toolbar is a useful tool.</p>
<p class="Paragraph">With the command <help:link Id="65937" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"><span class="T1">Open in Design Mode</span></help:link> you can save a form document so that it always opens in editing mode.</p>

<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-id value="SVX_MULTILINEEDIT_RID_SVX_DLG_SQLEXCEPTIONDETAILS_1" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"/>If you receive an error when assigning the properties for the objects contained in the form (for example, when assigning a non-existent database table to an object), you'll see a corresponding error message. This error message can have an <span class="T1">More</span> button. <help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">If you click <span class="T1">More</span>, you'll see then a dialog displaying clear information, warnings and errors about the current problem.</help:help-text></p>
